We Love Dads

Sometimes we have pretty high expectations of our dads. Sometimes they don’t live up to them. Other times they may exceed them.

What did you expect of your dad? Did he live up to it? And what do you expect today? Will he live up to it again? This Sunday is Father’s Day. It’s the time when we remember the one who wasn’t just the initiator of our lives, but the one who cared, who stood, who led, who guided, who held, who protected, who believed, who learned, who taught, who followed through. Or at least tried to do all or some of those things. Or at least I hope your dad did. If he didn’t, maybe you have a chance to give him another chance. Maybe he’s worth it. Maybe they are worth it. I know this: I had a dad, then I became a dad, and now my son is a dad. And we’re all trying to figure this out, to be better dads. At Gateway Church this Father’s Day we want to say, “We Love Dads!”

OTHER SERMON SERIES

  • Who You say I Am

What determines who we are? Is it who YOU think you are? Is it who others think you are?

  • Grace or Disgrace

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but it feels like many in our culture are becoming more polarized, especially with the health crisis and other issues we’ve been experiencing. We all have different opinions, and it tends to divide us. Hey, if your opinion is different than mine, then you must be wrong!

Who doesn’t love a good movie? They push us, they pull us; they reach to us, they speak to us; they tell us, they touch us; they amuse us, they move us; they might even change us.

  • We Love Family

For some, family is the most amazing thing ever – love, warmth, closeness and security. For some, it may be coldness, conflict, instability and even animosity.
